From

Information about educator workshops presented
with David Plummer
Educators will learn how music
lights up the brain for optimum language-learning absorption.
John highlights how music can make a huge difference to the
emergent struggling reader through rhyme, rhythm, and repetition.
Read-along songs and literature / music tie-ins are supplied.
Accomplished children’s author John Archambault and musician
David Plummer teamed up in 1991 on the musical version of the
award-winning book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Since then, they
have made seven music albums for children. For grades K–2:
Archambault’s books are set to whimsical music along with
more than 100 original award-winning songs. For grades 4–6:
they incorporate other well-known classics and explore how to
develop writing skills. Most importantly, they stress love of
reading, the importance of storytelling in handing down traditions,
and the power of music in developing your imagination.

Information
from the February 2004 State Conference where John was a luncheon
speaker:
Author and Storyteller, John Archambault
John kept the Saturday luncheon attendees invigorated with sing-alongs,
entertained with his storytelling, and inspired with stories
about his grandmother and his third-grade teacher. He continually
tugged on our heart-strings, kept us laughing, and made us reconsider
how we influence our students. He reminded us to encourage students
to use their imaginations—he called them their dream machines—and
to believe that they can do anything they really want to if
they are willing to work hard, think positively, and hold on
to their dreams.
John performed part of his new chapter book in progress, Forever
Third Grade, which is based on his own third grade year. His
finale was a first performance of the musical version of his
newest picture book, Boom Chicka Rock, which was a resounding
hit. To learn a little about this book visit John’s page
